aleja908 15 Posted November 29, 2015 Had my sleeve on 11/19 and today is 11/29. Since i left the hospital i havent had anything down and just been vomiting. I am so dehydrated that im at the er because i just couldnt take it anymore. I feel like im slowly dying. I regret making this decision. This has not been a good experience for me. I feel depressed because no one understands me. They all tell sip little by little which i do and i still vomit. I shouldve been happy with my fat!!!! Happy and fat!!! However best wishes to those that it has gone well. Wish mine was like that too.
Kindle 8,667 Posted November 29, 2015 So sorry you are having such a hard time. What does your surgeon say? Have you had a scope or upper GI study? Sounds like a stricture or twist. What you are experiencing is NOT normal and your doctor needs to find out why you are vomitting...this is not an acceptable postop reaction. If he won't help, find another doctor that will. Doesn't even have to be a bariatric surgeon. your PCP can send you to a gastroenterologist.

BarrySue 602 Posted November 29, 2015 Call your surgeon and just see if you had a mishap. It can be fixed, you will get better, and all this misery will become smaller and smaller in your memory. I feel you on the being so miserable with you regret everything (I had pretty bad complications). Hang in there, friend. It WILL get better.

slvarltx 332 Posted November 29, 2015 Don't take "no" for an answer. What you are experiencing is not normal.
borg/assimilated 576 Posted November 29, 2015 Hopefully the ER will start an IV to hydrate you. The stricture mentioned above is an unintended narrowing within your smaller stomach. I hope you get some answers today.

naturegirl 320 Posted November 29, 2015 I had my sleeve surgery in July and two days after I was released DH took me to the ER due to a combination of dehydration and a Migraine going on 4 days. At the ER they completed an x Ray and CT scan, both were normal. They also hooked me up to an IV to get fluids in me as I couldn't keep anything down. After a few hours I was released. The first week was hard. Things didn't stay down and I wasn't getting my fluids in. Eventually that changed. I still find myself vomiting a couple times a week if I eat too fast or too many carbs, but my Water intake is much better than those early days. Don't regret the surgery just give it time to heal. Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted November 29, 2015 I am so sorry you are experiencing this but hope they can get to the bottom of your issue. (This is for the benefit of other people reading this later), but, why in the world did you wait until you were in the ER and 10 days after discharge to call your surgeon? Didn he or she not give you a 24-hour phone number to call if you were experiencing difficulties?
