jess9395 5,449 Posted November 29, 2015 Bella, I am so sorry that this continues for you. What you are experiencing is definitely not typical. I definitely would go get that stricture taken care of. You deserve to be able to enjoy the little bit of food we can eat. Also, I cannot imagine feeling so crappy all the time. Please try getting that stricture fixed. I am guessing your only being able to eat soft foods is also causing you to be hungry more frequently because they are simply sliding through. I almost hate hate hate to say this but if getting the structure fixed does not help have you considered getting your surgery reversed? You cannot live like this forever with the physical issues and every once in a while there is the need for reversal. She has a sleeve now, I don't think that can be reversed sadly. She had bypass and had severe issues that caused them to reverse that and convert it to a sleeve, thus both are in her profile.
bellabloom 2,467 Posted November 29, 2015 Yes. I've already had a reversal. I have a sleeve now. I have scar tissue from the reversal right in the middle of my sleeve causing it to tighten into a stricture. I'm meeting with my bariatric surgeon Friday to discuss another dialation. I thought maybe I could do this without it but I don't think that's possible so another surgery is in my future.
Sharon1964 2,530 Posted November 30, 2015 Have you checked with your insurance company regarding a therapist that specializes in weight loss issues? Their provider list should have specialties. If not, if you PM me your city, I can probably help you find someone. I worked in mental health for about 14 or 15 years before switching over to pain management, so I may have a trick or two up my sleeve to help you out.
