Kitty112415 5 Posted November 28, 2015 I had my surgery on Tuesday the 24th and even with 5 incisions the gas pain is worse than anything. The pain is mainly in my chest and back and I've been walking around to try and ease it and that helps. It has definitely gotten better each day since surgery but at night it wakes me up out of my sleep. I've been practically sleeping sitting up thinking that would help but I'm not getting more than 2-3 hours of sleep. How much longer should this last?? rking 484 Posted November 28, 2015 I only had discomfort of gas in chest and back. I read on here to walk and walk and walk and walk. Also, the doctor told me that doing the deep breathing thing (hahaha sorry, I cannot think of the correct name of it....incentive something ) that you blow into helps with that also. emhegs78 0 Posted November 28, 2015 Incentive spirometer helps. I had my surgery Monday. I have been taking the gasx dissolvable strips and I think they help. You're right, it's worse at night when I lay down.
rking 484 Posted November 28, 2015 My two nights in the hospital I slept mostly sitting up. I think I may have also a night or two at home, but now am flat down.
