destiny_77 43 Posted November 28, 2015 After you get approved by your insurance to have the WLS, is there anyway you can be denied if you gain weight before you have the surgery?

Terra B 53 Posted November 28, 2015 They definitely want you to lose weight to make it easier on your liver and tummy when they do the surgery. I would definitely check! You don't want to make it so that they can't do the surgery. I am sure I have put on few since thanksgiving, but I start pre op diet Monday so hopefully the excess will come off. WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted November 28, 2015 @@destiny_77 -- You don't say why you're asking. If it's because you don't plan on losing more during the interim, you might reconsider having surgery at all.
jane13 2,256 Posted November 28, 2015 again... contact your doctors office and speak to the person who files the insurance or call you provider. I would talk to doctors office... .

When is your surgery? I don't have a set date yet but my approval dates for surgery is Dec. 14 & 15 so I'm guessing that's when the hospital will have to schedule me... Will make a call to them Monday.
jmf8756 1 Posted November 29, 2015 I don't know if it was an insurance requirement or my doctors requirement but I had to lose 15 pounds between my initial consultation and pre op appointment.
