Coles85 7 Posted November 28, 2015 I am so happy to say my surgery is all done. It took longer than expected as my band was quite complicated to remove but that is now out and bypass performed. I am leaving hospital this morning (I have been in since early Thurs) and home to rest on the sofa. I am feeling quite sore but mostly where the port had to be dug out ???? I am on my feet and walking though xx

katiet0526 7 Posted November 28, 2015 Congrats....I was revised on Monday, got out on Wednesday. Doing well but the pain where the port was is still really sore. Let's keep in touch...helps having support.
knrpick1 1 Posted November 29, 2015 I'm getting revision don end of December. I hear the pain is worse than regular bypass because of scar tissue. Is this the case?
TinyTink 268 Posted November 29, 2015 Glad things went well for you!
jennyb1913 0 Posted November 29, 2015 Hi Cole I am looking at a revision possibly at the end of this month. I am concerned that bypass is very drastic for me and I don't want to lose too much weight. May I ask your weight before the revision?
Coles85 7 Posted November 30, 2015 Congrats to everyone who have had their surgery and good luck to those you are having theirs soon. My port area is definitely worse than the other scars but I am now 4 days post surgery and moving normally. The first few days were not nice (but then of course they are not going to be) but since then have done nothing but improve quickly ☺️ It is what I can eat that is scaring me. I just have no interest in eating (mad I know!). Katie - what have you been eating? I weighed 258lbs at my heaviest and 235lbs on day of surgery. I am 5ft 8 so looking to get down to about 154lbs/140lbs. I have had 2 band ops and was needing a third. Had no confidence in the band anymore and had caused a lot of damaged to my stomach. Bypass is drastic but from what I have heard and read it is well worth it xx
NewlifeBarb 8 Posted November 30, 2015 Cole, I'm so glad everything went well for you. My surgery is scheduled for tomorrow (Dec. 1). I'm ready to have it all behind me too.
NewlifeBarb 8 Posted November 30, 2015 Cole, what type of clothing did you take to the hospital? I know they can keep the rooms pretty cold. I didn't know if I should take pajamas or night gown with a robe.
Coles85 7 Posted November 30, 2015 Good luck tomorrow. It will be over before you know it and you will be well on your way to a new improved life. I was just in pyjamas for the two days I was in as I found my room really warm. I would take slippers and dressing gown to wear when you go for little walks which is the best thing to move the gas they pump into you. Highly recommend doing this as soon as you feel like you can ???? xx
gebbiabn 34 Posted December 4, 2015 @@Coles85 We're only a few days apart! I just had a revision from Band to RNY this past Monday, Nov. 30. They wanted me to try 4oz of a Protein Shake last night, which made me a little nauseated. I even used unsweetened almond milk, and took 1.5 hours to drink it all. Maybe my body isn't quite ready to advance yet! How are you feeling? I was feeling AWFUL the day after surgery and was wondering what I got myself into! But the pain has not been that bad really. And I haven't really had any hunger, besides head hunger when I see Taco Bell on a commercial lol
Coles85 7 Posted December 4, 2015 Only 4 days apart ???? I am doing really well at the moment. I contacted my consultant as I was struggling to eat yogurt and jelly as was finding it so sweet it was making me feel sick. I was told to try cut up eggs and also very soft mash potato. So for a few days I have been eating Soup, eggs, soft low fat cheese and potato. Very small portions though. I think this was really early to have introduced these foods but so far I have had no reactions to it. I have also lost 8lbs since last Thurs ???? My pain is a lot easier and mobility nearly back to normal although I am not lifting or carrying my baby boy as yet. How do you feel now? Are you still wondering what you have done or are things easing for you now? ???? xx
