Hi..new to the group. I am scheduled for the 30th also. I am excited but sooo nervous. I have doubted my decision to have this a few times during my pre-op probably because I was hungry or watching my husband and daughter eating. I know these feelings are normal and I know this is the right choice. I have read a lot of stories on here with people dealing with complications and I'm glad I read them so that I can be informed as much as possible but lately I have been trying to stick to success stories only because otherwise my brain starts spinning! Good luck to everyone!

I'm not scared yet but I'm very ready to be on the other side of the surgery. I had a c-section with my first child so from that perspective I'm not too concerned with the surgery. The permanence of it all makes me pause and then I'm excited for a permanent tool to get healthy! I'm so ready for this!

I had a c-section too & 14 months ago, I am hoping that it is my saving grace come this surgery. Because I was completely fine after!

Welcome my fellow 11/30 sleevers!!! So glad we can help one another come Monday!! I am confirmed for 8:30am!!

Hi just checking in to see how everyone is feeling. I have been walking a lot today. The gas is pretty annoying. Right now it feels like it's in my upper abdomen. It was in my back earlier. Pain is not too bad. Just very sore getting in and out of bed. Haven't had anything to drink yet. Just some Water on a sponge. Had some nausea earlier in the day but that seems to have gone away for now. Hope everyone is doing well. Hang in there!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
