baileyj908 37 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) Sorry for the long post - I am so FRUSTRATED and ANNOYED ! Apparently after your last weight management classes my doctors office submits your case to the GI department of surgery and they have to approve surgery. Once approved they send cases to insurances. I was told they review cases based on surgery dates. I attended my last weight management class on October 29th. My doctors office submitted to them on November 3. I have still yet to hear back. I have called multiple times and emailed my doctors contact cordinator also. I spoke with her on Monday. She said she called and spoke with th gi department about the hold up and they said they would pull my case. I am scheduled for preadmission testing Friday. Has anyone been through something like this. Any words of advice? I am so stressed. I just emailed again and requested to see if there was someone else I can speak to. I'm supposed to get the ivc filter put in on December 10 and then have surgey on the 18th - however my paperwork hasn't even been submitted to my insurance. BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted November 25, 2015 That is odd. On a positive note, they must feel pretty sure that you will be approved because I can imagine them scheduling you for 2 procedures, taking up valuable OR time unless they were pretty positive of your approval. baileyj908 37 Posted November 25, 2015 (edited) I think the lady(Irina who you probably worked with since you went through the same place) is getting annoyed with me since I keep calling and emailing. But I think I have the right since I'm not getting clear answers. Edited November 25, 2015 by baileyj908
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted November 25, 2015 I can understand your aggravation and frustration. But, please keep in mind that this a very busy time of year (lots of folks trying to get scheduled before the end of the year) as well a time when staffs are short due to the holidays. If you are in the U.S., then Thanksgiving week (before and after) can impact business transactions. Take a deep breath. I suggest you be patient, polite, proactive, and persistent. And, have faith that this will all work out.
baileyj908 37 Posted November 25, 2015 I have been very polite (but have continued to call and email to check). After the email I sent her this morning she emailed back and said my case was sanded to the insurance company. I think most of frustration is because she continued to tell me she would get back to me and keep me updated. It happened twice. If I would have known, that would have been two times I would not have had to call and check and bother her at work.
