I Am Thankful For My Stall

Recommended Posts

I am thankful for this post and @innersurfergirl's "Embrace the Stall" post.

I'm also thankful for any post about a stall that was posted more than a couple of months ago, and here is why:

First I read the original post, filled with angst, frustration and fear that something is wrong and questions about whether they will lose any more weight. Then, I scroll down and look at their ticker. It usually reflects a significant amount of weight loss, proving that they not only broke their stall, but are successfully on their way to, and sometimes at, their goal!

I have not had a true stall yet (only a minor bump), but I know exactly where I will go for inspiration when I do!

Thanks everyone for all your thoughts, good, bad and ugly, regarding stalls!

Yes, the stalls come and they go away in their own time ....

I've had 4-5 stalls by now, and then I lost more weight, again :)

I too was worried when the first one happened, and this thread and the "Embrace the Stall" thread really helped me.

Inner Surfer Girl explains it so well.

I am thankful for both threads.

Yes I'm in a stall last few days iv been stuck on the same number even went up a pound but I also started working out so I could be holding Water I'll see in the morning

A couple of days does not a stall make. When the scale doesn't move for 3 weeks, THEN you're in a stall. Step away from the scale for a few days. You're going to drive yourself batty.

I had a two week stall and only 7wks out but I think when my food phase changed a stall appeared BUT I want to lose at a pace I can build up too. I am not much of a physically person..exercise and such but since surgery I have increased activity, park farther from work and stores, and even do more activities from the kids. My stalls are not a worry for me because I haven't been a scale obsessed person but my inches and moving down in clothes sizes. All good in this neighborhood. :D

I'm grateful for my last stall. I dropped a size right afterwards and am now comfortably in a 16 pant. expecting stall number 3 to start soon if it hasn't already.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
