Double Milk for Protein

Recommended Posts

Anyone using double milk as Protein source? I add 1/3 dry non-fat milk powder to 1 cup non-fat milk and use it in my cream of wheat and pudding. Gives the milk a "boost." I'm tracking in Fitness Pal and not sure how much Protein is in a serving of double milk. Anyone know? Will also ask my NUT.

Does the milk powder and non-fat milk not have a nutritional label?

Doing the opposite here. I am using Premier Protein vanilla as a replacement for cream in iced coffee and as a replacement for milk when eating a small bowl of Cinnamon Pecan Special K. I second the others. Just look up the value of the dry separate form the milk and add them both to your Breakfast entry.

Thanks for the tips. I'm new to FP. I added dry milk as a second entry and I'm good to go. Got another FP question....what if your quantity of food is not listed as an option? For instance, my lunch today consisted on 1/2 cup refried Beans with a little salsa and sprinkle of low fat cheese. The smallest quantity listed for a serving of Beans is 1 cup. Any advice on how to add?

Where it says servings in the entry before you add it, select the number 1 and change it to a decimal. .5 for half, .75 for 3/4 of something.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
