I want solid food!

Recommended Posts

I'm three weeks today and I want solid food. They said I could do string cheese and deli turkey and chicken. I am not drinking my two protien shakes a day because they are making me nauseous I have to drink so much. What do I do? Also I can mashed potatoes and yogurt, Jello pudding, you know the same as the first week or two. But, they don't have protien and I'm worried I'm not doing it right.

And I haven't had a bowel movement for like 6 days but I got a really bad hemorrhoid last week so I've been healing. I started my Vitamins sat to help with fatigue. I haven't lost for a few days. What can I do? Just such it up and drink? Am I eating enough? Am I eating too much? WHAT?

Ugh...

Greek yogurt has Protein. You can add Protein powder to pudding. String cheese and deli turkey have Protein. So does cottage cheese.< /p>

You can also add Protein Powder to Soups and broths.

At three weeks out I was eating a lot of Greek yogurt and cottage cheese. I was also allowed tuna then.

In addition, I continued to drink ProtiDiet liquid beverage concentrates, Protein shakes, and use the ProtiDiet Tomato basil and creamy chickens that I was allowed during my liquid phases.

With each phase I was able to add foods to what I was already allowed to have so it expanded my options. But, I still ate fairly simply.

Just keep trying to do everything you can to get in all of your protein and fluids.

P.S. Stalls are a normal, necessary, and natural part of the weight loss process. Most folks have their first stall at about three weeks post op.

Embrace the Stall!

Are you tracking your food? Are you hitting your Protein goals? Are you drinking Water and taking a stool softener?

Do you like seafood? Try a white fish and bake it. chicken and Turkey can be hard to digest since they are dry. You will find that things with a higher moisture content are easier to eat.

If you don't like the Protein shakes, try the clear Protein drinks like Isopure no carb or Syntrax nectar.

YOU MUST GET IN YOUR Protein.< /strong> You need protein to heal and to lose. It may also be the reason why you are feeling fatigued. You can get unflavored protein and mix with mashed potatoes. Greek yogurt is packed with protein. Get creative, but do what you have to do to meet your protein and Fluid goals.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
