In need of some crunch?

Recommended Posts

Found a great recipe on Pinterest for Parmesan wonton crackers and they are yummy! No fat, a few carbs and even a little Protein. Almost 3 months out and I was missing a little crunch in my life. These are perfect!

I do cucumber slices with a splash of hot sauce & lime. Crunchy & spicy; my favorite things. A ½ cup is 4 or 5 calories and I get some veg in to stay regular.

I've had cucumbers a few times. I just missed something closer to a "chip". Fortunately my family likes the taste of them too, I get 3 or 4 and the rest are eaten by the kids and hubby. Keeps me out of trouble :)

I understand. I was never a big chip eater so I don't really miss them.

@jenn1-I've seen those mentioned a few times. Where do I find those?

I found some really great high Protein Snacks through Amazon. It's great to be able to read all of the reviews too, but I've still ended up buying one that I really didn't like.. Just got these pickle or dill krinkles that are high in protein and super satisfying without actually having to eat a pickle, haha

I like Quest chips. I get them online. If you order directly from Quest you can buy individual bags to sample.

My new favorite post-swim snack is Mr. cheese O's. I get mine from Amazon but have heard they are available at some stores. There are several flavors and you can get a sampler from Amazon.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
