Are you in pain? If you aren't now but then become in pain and start running a fever I suggest calling your doctor immediately or going to the er just to be safe. I waited for atleast 3 weeks before having sex and I was ok, but we didn't get freaky if ya know what I mean ;)

Nothing to be embarrassed about.

I've never regretted getting hurt when it was doing stuff I truly enjoyed....thus the knee surgeries, ankle tendon repair, several broken fingers, broken ribs and three broken metatarsal bones in my right foot.......each sustained at different times doing stuff I truly enjoyed...sports, play and hobbies.

Sadly.....none were done during sex. I'd have really worn those injuries as badges of honor. :P

Not making light of your situation, though. Like anything else pain related, if it persists an any symptoms occur, I'd be reporting it on Monday to your surgeon's nurse. She may have other questions that help you rule stuff out and feel better about the situation.

Sorry you were injured, but I respect the hell outa how you did it. Quality of life and enjoying things is what this surgery is all about, right ???

You're probably fine. Your internal sutures may not have fully disolved yet, however the underlying tissue is probably healed to a point that popping a suture isn't a big deal. You're almost at three weeks, so if you think about anytime you've had external sutures, most of the time the injury was closed and well on its way to healing before the sutures dissolved or were removed and usually this was under the 3 week time frame.

Of course if you experience pain, a fever, or any flu-like symptoms, your doctor needs to be contacted immediately.

If you're not in pain you're probably fine. I didn't have that happen after the sleeve, but things like that would happen now & then after my Tummy Tuck. As I continued to heal everything got back to normal

Unfortunately I have been celibate since being sleeved but just think about it. Are you cleared for full activity yet? Of course not. Would you go and do sit-ups right now? Of course not. I'm not saying that you need to abstain. Of course not. But you do need to get creative and refrain from using your abs/core during intimacy. If you felt a pop it very well may have been a suture rupture. So call your Dr ASAP and just be careful. Most of us could not even lie on our side at three weeks out so just try to keep this in perspective.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
