For those who really really love their car...

Recommended Posts

I too love my car. I have a 2007 sublime green dodge charger. I have always loved the 70s model chargers and those beautiful colors so in the early and mid 2000s when they went back through the old school colors, i KNEW i had to have one. finally got her about 4 years ago. Racy Tracy is her name ;)

I will drive her till it costs me more to fix her monthly than a new car payment. she is beautiful and paid for. the only thing that annoys me is she uses tires quickly and doesn't have a input for my iPhone/ipod to play music. Good luck with your LOVE! :)

I thought I was the only crazy person in love with their old car. I have a 2002 Toyota Avalon. It has 215,000 miles on it. I have taken very good care of it and it looks much newer than it is. However, I know she is an "old granny" now and may have a cardiac arrest at anytime. I dread the day I have to replace it. I drove my daughter to her first day of preschool in it and my dream is to drop her off at college in it. She is a junior so it just needs to last another year and a half.

I think whenever I get a new car and have to drive away and leave it behind at the dealer I may cry.

I feel your pain.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
