Sleeved 10/26 - trouble consuming protein shakes

Recommended Posts

I've tried EAS Myoplex 42g of Protein - nauseating almost immediately. I know I'm not consuming enough but my doctor showed me photos of my sleeve and it's tiny. Suggestions?

I

I think Unjury is very good. I get the chocolate splendor - tastes like chocolate milk. Doesn't have that weird taste that some of the other Protein Shakes heve

Steph-you're just going to have to shop around until you find one that works for you. I was sleeved 10/26 as well. Pre op I used premiere Protein and loved it. Post op, I could not tolerate it. I went through maybe a half dozen before I found one that would work. I would pick them up at convenience stores or the grocery. I finally found Core Power. It works great for me!! So glad I found it as I was giving up hope! You can also use unflavored protein in other food items.

Be patient, it takes time to get used to your new stomach. Like the others said, you just need to carefully experiment with other Proteins until you find one that works. I was sleeved on Sept 8. New stomach hated any of the sweet Protein drinks. I ended up using Unflavored unjury in Tomato Soup in order to get some in.

The hardest part for me was to mentally get over not finishing my Protein Drink and not finishing the food on my plate. I know I NEVER got the Dr. recommended amount of Protein in as new stomach said no way. You will be fine, even if you go to some pureed foods a bit early in very tiny amounts.

The good news is it does get better, your new stomach will be able to handle a bit of Protein Drink as time goes on and other foods. Good luck to you.

A little Fairlife milk bottle...19 grams of Protein. So good. 42 grams all at once is too much. Your body can't even process that. Unjury chicken noodle Soup is really good.
