I'd no longer qualify for WLS!

Recommended Posts

Since surgery, I've been having a great time celebrating each time the second digit in my weight goes down. I get off the scale and actually say out loud, "see ya, 270s!" And 260s and 250s.

Now I'm happy to meet another milestone. At my current weight, I'd no longer have the BMI to qualify for WLS!

Just want to share my joy! I'm still fairly early out (a little over two months) and I know the best is yet to come!

Congratulations I too believe in celebrating small goals.

I had my weight loss surgery in 2007 and have "yet" to make it to goal. I would of given up long ago if I did not Celebrate NSV's or short time goals.

You would be surprised how many WLS patients think they are failures because they do not reach their weight loss goal.

I on the other hand am extremely grateful every day for having my active life back.

You're the first person I've come across anywhere to notice this NSV. Nifty. Or is it an SV? Who cares? We take nifty wherever we find it. Keep going.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
