I'm doing ok. Overall I feel pretty good. I need to drink more fluids and will go home tomorrow. I just have an "uneasy" feeling or blah feeling now. It to shall pass. I was walking the halls and a lady stopped me asking if I had gs surgery. She said she had it 3 months ago and she is doing great... 50 lbs down! That was nice to hear right now when we feel yucky.

I've been home since Wednesday. Luckily only had to stay one night. The liquids are getting easier to get down and the gas is finally almost gone. Just a little sore but nothing I can't handle.

Hope everyone is doing well!! ????

Im moving to puree. I had some re-fried Beans and taco meat (hubby made) blended it up and melted some cheese....omg SO GOOD!. After so much nausea for the time since surgery it was nice to enjoy something without feeling sick. How are you all doing and what stage re you at?

Checking in!

I spent 12 hours at the ER a few days ago due to dehydration. I had an indescribable pain on my left side. It hurt every single time I inhaled.

I didn't want to take pain meds - but had no choice.

I seem to be doing a lot better. I'm eating creamy Soups, yogurt and cottage cheese. Being able to add variety to my diet has made me so much happier.

I have diabetes . . . so my blood sugar has been SUPER LOW . . . and I'm frustrated that my doctors have not given me specific instructions about how to handle this because I can't eat!

Also, I'm on a host of meds that require food when eating. So if I can't eat, what do I do? Doctors have been vague with their instructions.

I have a dietician appointment next week.

I know it's early, but how much have you all lost? I'm 12 lbs down.

I'm down 19lbs. I get to start soft foods tomorrow. Still trying to get used to eating 2 ounces of food and feeling full , if I even get to finish the 2 ounces! Loving it! Still feeling the the pull of the stitches, if thats what it is, near my 2 larger incisions but nothing really to complain about!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
