nomorequitting 12 Posted November 20, 2015 (edited) Yay! I finally had my last required appt with my nutritionist ✔️ had my psych eval✔️ even met my goal weight for my surgeon to go forward with doing the surgery now to wait for the ladies to submit my request to my insurance (medi-cal) question is I am a very impatient person should I call and see when they will submit and keep bugging them? I work for health clinic so I know the insurance approval takes no longer than 5 days for approval it just depends on the speediness of the person so should I bug or should I be patient? lol FYI they told me it would take 3 weeks I don't think I can wait that long Edited November 20, 2015 by nomorequitting
mark1733 224 Posted November 20, 2015 I hate hearing all of these "waiting on approval" threads. With my insurance if I was a certain bmi I was approved. Well after the psych eval. I hope you get good news
lauriev 71 Posted November 20, 2015 I had to wait on approval because my BMI was borderline. I needed a 40 to be approved no questions asked, I knew mine was lower than that and I don't have any major co-morbidities. Not sure how my doc made it happen but he did!!! 2goldengirl 2,076 Posted November 20, 2015 It can often take loger for the request to make it out of the surgeon's office for approval than for the approval itself. In CA, the medical group (to whom the function is delegated by the HP) has to make a decision within 5 business days of reciept. There isn't a timeframe for how long it can take the office to actually make the submission. That said, for every phone call you make to bug the office staff, that slows down everyone - the person who ansers the phone, the person who is trying to get everything together to submit, and the person who has to check over that person's work. In many offices, the doctor has to sign off before something gets submitted. Since you work in a health clinic, what would make you more, or less, motivated? Good luck!
