amandasue 27 Posted December 1, 2015 Start preop diet on 12/11 and liquids 2 days prior! Getting excited and nervous. I've never been under anesthesia so I'm most nervous about that and I'm scared to death I'm going to vomit after and rip a staple! I've got 2 babies (a 2yr old and a 5 month old) so I'm also worried about the "down time" but I know in the long run this is the right decision!
juno5 30 Posted December 2, 2015 I think it may depend on what you do for work... I'm a nurse and work 12 hour shifts I'm critical care. Planning to take at least 4 weeks off. My surgeon agrees with me on this too.

livvsmum 2,369 Posted December 2, 2015 1. Doc said I'll be back to work in 3 days post-op. Is that true? 2. Will I be able to swallow my thyroid meds post-op? 3. Anyone try it-works wraps for loose skin? 4. Any recommendations for firming lotions, etc to help with skin elasticity while rapidly losing? 5. How soon until I'm back in the gym? (Rowing machine, lunges, squats, light weights, etc)? 1. 3 days seems excessively soon to me. I have a desk job, very sedentary, and I went back at 2 weeks post op, but that was WAY early. I should have taken a full month off. 2. I wouldn't think so. I had to have liquid versions of meds for a while, but that is a question for your surgeon. If it is a small pill it might be ok. 3 & 4. I guess some things might work a bit for loose skin, but in the end, it is what it is....skin. In the end lotions, potions, Water and working out will work to some extent, but it all depends on your skin elasticity, age, etc. I ended up having a TT and it was the best thing ever!!! 5. Again, a question for your surgeon. I would think you should be able to start working out maybe 6 weeks or so after, but everyone's surgeon recommends something different. Good luck
