Hello!

I just looked closely in the mirror yesterday and saw this. Don't mind the sun spots and blurriness - look at the wrinkly dimply mess.

This is my cheek

Does anyone have any suggestions to tighten up this area? Any lotions or creams that actually work? I'm not looking for a miracle cure, just something to help out a little.

Thanks!!

Creams don't work. It's a matter of genetics. You can help minimize appearances by staying hydrated inside and out, but I wouldn't waste money of fancy expensive creams that promise miracles.

FYI - You posted a PDF that requires downloading to view. You might want to upload the picture to your media to make it more easily view-able.

ETA: I stand corrected. Many have success with with retinols. The recommendation to see a dermatologist or licensed esthetician is a good one.

Retinols DO work, and literally any dermatologist will back this. They take time to see results, but help build/strengthen the collagen foundation under the skin. Nothing will erase all issues, but an OTC Retinol will help.

Hyaluronic Acids also help plump the skin by helping it retain moisture. ROC makes good otc products with retinol, and Estee Lauder makes a great Advanced Night Repair that is heavy in Hyalourin Acid... but pricey. Cerave night cream is affordable, it makes my face break out, but is AMAZING on making my hands look supple and smooth. If it didn't make me have hives on my face I would cake it on my face, lol.

I would suggest going to a dermatologist. As @@liannatx said, Retinols do work. Your skin will turn over faster and repair itself. If you are going to get something over the counter get something high quality. I suggest http://www.makeupartistschoice.com/Retinol_c_238.html If you have already met your out of pocket for the year, really try to get into a Derm before the end of the year, they have some amazing creams.

A TCA Peel will help. If you are not familiar or comfortable doing your own (which I don't suggest if you are new to it), find a professional. You have to plan for it because your whole face is going to peel and you need to stay out the sun but the results are well amazing.

Mircoderm abrasion also can help. Go to a professional and get a series.

The cheapest help I can think of would be http://www.walgreens.com/store/c/studio-35-beauty-alpha-hydroxy-face-cream/ID=prod6111663-product

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
