Crying or ticked off

Recommended Posts

My emotions are all over the place. I had a hysterectomy years ago. Started hormone therapy about 3 years ago once full

Blown menopause set in. I'm taking my meds but I swear I am either crying or I could rip someone's head off. Wth??

So you don't mention where you are in the WLS journey. Pre or post surgery? Have you lost weight? I read on another thread here that hormones are stored in the excess fat of your body and as you lose weight that the hormones are released. That could explain it depending on your situation.

You're being bombarded with hormones. This too shall pass.

yeah, my surgery was sept 2. there were several days where I just sat and cried and I dont even know why. Actually I had a day like that on Monday. I was not feeling well and going through a moment of "why did I do this to myself" but those usually pass after a few hours and talking to someone

you'll be ok, this place is great for support

Me tooooo!!! I thought it was just me bc I could cry and in the next breath want to yell at someone. I had to stop taking my bc pills prior to surgery and not allowed to take them until 30 days out (I'm 3 weeks post op). But if hormones are stored on extra fat then that makes sense. Good luck to everyone around us! ????

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
