Fair life Skim? Where are you?

Recommended Posts

Anyone else having trouble finding fair life skim? Both my normal stores have only 2% and whole fair life.

I really need my skim milk!!!!!

It has been two weeks since I have been able to find it!

What is this 'Fair Life' milk you speak of? Never mind I Googled it. I am willing to bet is costs a lot more money than my regular moo milk, however to get rid of carbs it may be worth the investment.

It is soooo worth the extra dollars, especially since we as WLS patients don't need as much. I drink 2 four ounce glasses of the Whole Fairlife. It feels me up, taste great and is yummy in an ice cold mug!

@@TMG1980TMG I know there are almost double the calories in the Whole or even the 2% but you do get more nutrition out of whole milk. Any whole milk. Which is why when babies are weened from formula (or even breast milk) they will start with Whole Milk. They (and us adults) need the fat (especially in small doses) from whole milk. Just a thought.

I have been using the 2%, but it is a lot more calories... I suppose since I don't eat much it isn't the biggest deal.

I was just use to buying 2 skim and 2 whole cartons on each shopping trip.

I give my husband/son the whole milk.

Tonight I asked my local target about it and they said it was a company issue?

Yes! My grocery store hasn't had the Fairlife skim for over a week. Broke down and got the 2%. Hope whatever the issue is they resolve it soon.

I get mine at Meijer and that is the only kind of milk (mixed with protein) that does not cause me a great deal of gas. So, yes, it's $3.99 for a half gallon, but has more Protein than regular skim milk and is worth every dollar!

Yeah- I couldn't drink milk before fair life either-- ❤️❤️ this stuff!

My DH drinks a lot of milk after I switched he said how awesome the milk was because he didn't get gas/bloating after drinking a lot of milk!

My Meijer has been out of the skim-- (reason I posted originally)

I don't normally shop at Kroger, but might need to see if the have any skim... Maybe it is a local issue? Or maybe a whole lot of people in my area discovered how awesome fair life skim milk is! ????????

My Meijer was out last week too, I think because it was on sale 2/$6. I had to get a rain check.

I bout this milk yesterday as a trial, and OMFG, no bariatric patient who drinks milk should be drinking anything else. It tastes great, has let cabs, and far more Protein it is a no brainer. Thank you for bringing this subject up!

FAIRLIFE FOR LIFE, God that sounds bad.

Oh, my ass even approves!

Lucerne has the same product under the name Protein plus milk if you have a grocery that carries Lucerne dairy products.

As for whole milk having more nutrition, can you please share what that nutrition is? I know children up to age two are supposed to have full fat milk because they need the fat for the myelination of the neuron sheaths in their brain (the "insulation" on the brain "wires" as it were is made up of fat). But why do adults need it?

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
