Terra B 53 Posted November 17, 2015 The soonest they can get me in for surgery is Dec. 21. We have friends coming in that we haven't seen in like 3 plus years on the 28th. Will I be ok for Xmas? Will I be ok to go do things with friends when they get here? Should I wait til next year? I don't want to! Please, I need help asap before scheduling calls me back! Stevehud 1,790 Posted November 17, 2015 Describe what you mean by do things? If you mean, go out to eat? then no. youll be on liquids most probably and not really capable of eating much if at all. If thats all you mean sure. youre gonna be lethargic, cranky , healing, regretting the whole thing etc. the same things we all go through. But youll be on your way to healthy as well. And thats something you can surely DO with friends.
Terra B 53 Posted November 17, 2015 Ride in a car, walk around, take them to see some sights (L.A)- I don't want to climb the Hollywood sign by any means, but I don't want to be laid up either. Thanks for any help that you can give!
Terra B 53 Posted November 17, 2015 I'm not even worried about food. If they go to dinner, no worries, I will make sure I am set with Protein and Water.
glitterpockets 85 Posted November 17, 2015 I'd wait. Every surgery and person is different. I know it's a week out after surgery but no one can tell the future and say you'll be 100% by then. I wouldn't strain yourself or push your limits. I personally think you'd enjoy your time with them so much better if you wait till the new year (and it'll be a great way to start off 2016!) ☺
mrs kaje 347 Posted November 17, 2015 If you don't want to wait, then don't wait.

_Kate_ 2,224 Posted November 17, 2015 Will your friends know you have had the surgery?
Terra B 53 Posted November 17, 2015 No. That will give me two weeks to recover even if I'm not 100%, I can just tell them not feeling great. Not lying
DaisyAmy 561 Posted November 18, 2015 I picked Dec 14, too, for similar reasons. I'm not waiting any longer to do it and wanted to feel 'ok' for Christmas. Good luck to you!! To us!!
