Almost week three

Recommended Posts

On Wednesday I will be post op 3 weeks. I'm worried I'm not lossing enough weight. I've been at the same weight for almost a week. I just don't understand. I've been weighting myself daily which isn't every helpful at least that's what I've been told. I know it's not going to be coming off like magic, but I just thought I would see more results. My doctor has told me not to stress about it yet. But I read all these past about people losing so much

I am almost a month post op, I will be on the 19th and I've weighed exactly the same since November 2nd, so for two weeks now the scale hasn't moved at all. Its really frustrating. I've been doing my best to get all my calories and all my Protein and all my Water and I've been walking 5 days a week and doing extras on the weekends. I don't see how I can't be losing but the scale sure isn't telling me so. SIGH! I feel your pain.

It's just disappointing, I know it's not a magical surgery where everything disappears... but it's hard to keep doing all of the requirements because of the surgery and to feel like it's for nothing. I had foot surgery before this so it's been limiting my endurance for exercise. Before my foot I was at the gym all the time, walking at least 10,000 steps. So it could be a reason I feel so disappointed in it all. But my doctor told me not to worry until after the 6 week mark. I hope my body gets it together.

I've been off of work for the last 2 months, and kinda hid this surgery behind my foot surgery. Well I have to go back to work soon. I haven't told anyone at work about it. 2 people from work know and that's because we're friends outside of work. Did you tell people about the surgery?

Yes, you are at the three week mark so a stall is pretty inevitable at this point.

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process. If you are going to lose a significant amount of weight, you will experience stalls.

Just focus on getting in all of your Protein and fluids, taking your Vitamins and supplements as directed, and exercising.

If the numbers on the scale are going to dictate how you feel, then STAY OFF THE scale.< /p>

Embrace the Stall!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
