I'm unclear. Was it a strain to go? Are you getting constipated?

I think it was dumping syndrome, since I been on these new Protein Shakes they are very rich and high in sugar and cals.

Protein Shakes should not be rich in sugar and carbs as that defeats the purpose of taking them. I would switch to a different brand if I were you.

@@JudeaJordon - I would say it was dumping and I agree no Protein shake should be high in sugar especially. That's tends to make me go a little bit more, if I eat something very sugary. What Protein drinks are you drinking?

I understand now. If I recall correctly these are the new shakes your NUT recommended? I would call her back and explain the reaction you're having.

I'm on up and go energise, because opti fast wast making me drowsy and sick, and I was only getting 30 g of Protein in a day supposed to be 100g my dietician told me to not worry about sugars or cals just protein also I'm she told me to go on a full fat yoghurt called Chobani because it's high in protein so I don't know if it's either.

It may be one or it may be a combo of both. Try giving yourself a rest for a day then trying again but adding the new food one at a time. This way you have a better idea of which one is causing the reactions.

Yeah this stuff has 18.5g sugar, 17.3g protein. Maybe ask your dietitian for another suggestion - there are plenty of options out there.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
