rblakely63 11 Posted November 15, 2015 My surgery is on 12/10 and my biggest fear is not waking up after surgery. I have passed all the required test and is healthy enough to have the surgery. Has anyone had this fear prior to surgery?
rblakely63 11 Posted November 15, 2015 I stand corrected my surgery is 12/7. You see how my nerves have begun to set in.
retzlpa 98 Posted November 15, 2015 I think this is always a normal fear. If it is getting too much that you aren't sleeping because of it, then it's time to talk to someone, maybe get on an anti anxiety for a bit. Good luck, you will be in highly trained professionals hands before, during and after surgery!

The Candidate 3,215 Posted November 15, 2015 It's not an altogether unusual fear. Any surgery is scary. Try to stay positive and focus on how much better your life is going to be after. Good luck!
Joytothemoon 0 Posted November 16, 2015 That's my biggest fear too ???? it does happen right? My surgeon said that the whole anesthesia experience is peaceful and simple but I'm terrified!
Rollergal 17 Posted November 16, 2015 Call me crazy but I love the feeling of going under anaesthetic. It's super peaceful. For what it's worth before you go under they will give you anti anxiety meds. I've had about 12 general anaesthetics. Not one was a problem.
