Brewski's mama 4 Posted December 6, 2015 My surgeon told me that because my gerd was severe and I had it for so long, that this is expected. She switched around my medications a bit and if that doesn't help, then I have to have an EGD. The barium swallow didn't show any strictures. So far, the med changes haven't helped much. momamia 1 Posted December 9, 2015 I had lapband 6 yrs ago and in October 2015 had it removed because of GERD. I'm in that 10% that reflux medicine doesn't work. I an now being told that I have to possible consider having RYN for relief or the Reflux Surgery which both scare me. Waiting now to do manometry test to determine which procedure is best I had lapband 6 yrs ago and in October 2015 had it removed because of GERD. I'm in that 10% that reflux medicine doesn't work.
