Terra B 53 Posted November 14, 2015 Hi everyone! I was just wondering if anyone had anything special that they ate that maybe you didn't think you should eat after surgery? I think this could be fun just to see what everyones faves are! Thanks! XOXO
leag78 469 Posted November 14, 2015 Well the day before surgery I had some king crab legs and that was it. I really didn't over do it the day before surgery. I was actually one of the few that didn't have to do the liquid diet so I could've eaten whatever I wanted but I chose not to.
magtart 603 Posted November 14, 2015 I ate steak and roasted asparagus before starting my 2 week liquid pre-op diet.
Miss Mac 6,262 Posted November 14, 2015 My last meal before starting the liquid diet was Beef and Peppers Lo Mein with Crab Rangoons and Fortune Cookies from a local Chinese restaurant.
Terra B 53 Posted November 14, 2015 OH! It all sounds so good! I don't know what I am going to have before I start my 2 week pre surg diet. I'm not sure when I am having surgery. I want to asap, my husband wants me to wait til after the holidays so that while our company is here we don't have to worry about something going wrong and me ending up in the hospital or something. I want to do it the first week of Dec. which would give me almost 4 weeks before anyone is here for the holidays. Any thoughts? Maybe I should make a new post about it? WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted November 15, 2015 I had given some thought to a last splurge, as many had talked about in the support group I was attending. Soon enough it occurred to me that it was a dumb idea -- for me. "What's the point of eating like an maniac one more time? If I'll be giving it up for a purpose, does one more time have meaning?" The answer was a loud "No!" In the case of eating specific food, but not necessarily to excess, that, too, made no sense. Nothing that I might have to give up in the future seemed so important that I couldn't forget about it on the spot.
Kindle 8,667 Posted November 15, 2015 I never planned on giving up the foods I loved so I never had food funerals or a "last meal". And although I restricted certain foods while I was losing, I now again eat everything and anything....in moderation, of course.

I actually came to the same in conclusion; but I thought it would be fun to see what everyone would eat if it was in fact, their last meal.

BLERDgirl 6,417 Posted November 15, 2015 I honestly don't remember what my last pre-surgery meal was. I didn't do any food funerals or farewell meals. I was already practicing my post-op eating and told I wouldn't have to give up any foods I currently ate.
faddapeta 12 Posted November 17, 2015 I enjoyed a huge polish meal prior to my liquid diet. The stuffed cabbage tasted so good too.
FrancesJ 2 Posted November 17, 2015 Lobster is my favorite but also expensive. From the research I've done I don't think after surgery I'll be able to enjoy a whole tail. So I plan to have a lobster tail and some green veggies
tmcx28 297 Posted November 17, 2015 I start my pre-op diet this weekend, and since thanksgiving is right in the middle of it my family decided to move thanksgiving to last Saturday so I could enjoy it. That was a good enough last meal for me!
