What are "Friends" in BP terms? How did they get on My Profile?

Recommended Posts

I just noticed two BP people on my profile screen as "friends." One of them I exchanged one note only, perhaps on status feed -- skimpy contact. The other's name is unfamiliar to me. Sparkpeople.com, the only other interactive website I use, provides for friends by choice only, not assigned by themselves or anyone/anything else. What does it mean in BP?

If BP gives the capability to someone to choose him/herself for me, what do they get from it? What can I do if I don't wish an individual to have access to whatever that may be?

Someone can become a friend just by clicking on your name and at your profile page click add you as a friend. Ifyou don't want them as a friend, go up to the little wheel near your name at the top right of the page. Do a left click go down to manage friends and you will see the friends listed and then you can delete that person.

I add people as friends or they add me. I have pages and I can only see the first page so I have no clue who they all are. I think when you post a status update it lets them know.

As Elode said, all having a friend does is show their status updates in your notifications. They don't have special access to anything. There are a few people here who have given me great advise or have otherwise inspired me in some way, so i add them as friends to see what they are up to occasionally. It is no big deal.

Elode you have 5 pages of friends. Why is it that you can only see the first page? Did you know underneath the manage friends title it lists the pages. You just have to click on any other page and you can see all the friends you have.

@@ssflbelle I know but when I click on it it just shows the first page again, it's been that way since I stared here.

WOW what a shame that it has not been fixed. I have no problem seeing my pages and all of your friends as well. That is odd. Have you mentioned it to Alex the founder?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
