I'm almost six weeks Sleeve post-op and have been dealing with terrible bile reflux since week two. I also have stomach/side pain that radiates to my chest and back. They did an EGD and found the excessive bile. They did an u/s of my gallbladder, which looked fine. They sent me for a HIDA scan to see how the gallbladder functions. Waiting for that test to come back. The scan was so unpleasant. I'm barely eating at all...maybe 200 calories in a day, if I'm lucky because I'm so nauseous and it hurts to swallow. I try to drink and keep hydrated, but it's a struggle, too. I've lost 44 pounds. Anyone dealt with anything like this?

Sorry you're having these problems. Are you on a PPI like Omeprazole? You might ask your surgeon if it could help.

I had a HIDA scan two weeks ago. I found it more boring than uncomfortable. Just having to lie there and be still for so long. It wouldn't have been so bad if I had my Kindle with me.

Good luck and I hope you feel better.

I have tried any combination of about seven different reflux medications and I'm currently on a bile reduction medication...with no relief at all.

The hida scan was fine the first hour, but when they added the CCK medication, the gallbladder contracted and the pain was awful and the nausea overwhelming.

Six weeks post-op sleeve surgery tomorrow and I've had a very rough road. Today, we finally got news as to what my problem is. My gallbladder is functioning at 0%. I will have surgery some time this week. I'm so looking forward to getting this chapter behind me and seeing what a "normal" sleeve life is.

I feel for you. My gallbladder gave me crap for months at 11 and 12% function.

Best of luck!
