Nikkip35 30 Posted November 14, 2015 My nutritionist wants me to start eating 5 meals a day plus 64oz of fluids. On a typical day I eat twice a day with a snack somewhere in between. Is it hard getting that much in after surgery?
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted November 14, 2015 Yes, it is very hard to get it all in soon after surgery but it is very important to do so. Immediately after surgery it is a full time job to get in all of the Protein and fluids, but it gets easier. Skipping meals is what got many of us in the shape to need surgery in the first place and is horrible for the metabolism.
Djmohr 6,965 Posted November 14, 2015 I eat 3 tiny meals and 2 to 3 Snacks just to get all my Protein in. I am pretty restricted depending on what I eat. I will say your nut is right eating several small meals a day really benefits your metabolism and obesity is a metabolic disease. I used to skip Breakfast and lunch and then I would eat a huge dinner and garbage all night long. That is how I ended up morbidly obese. I really wish I knew then what I know now about nutrition. You must not skip meals if you want a normal metabolism.
