I plan on talking to my dr about this when I see him in December but I just wanted to see what everyone else has been told about the flu shot.

I haven't had the flu in well over 10 years. I even worked one flu season at an urgent care. I survived without getting even the slightest cold. I haven't had a flu shot in at least 20 years.

When I was in the hospital the nurse kept telling me the dr recommends waiting 6 weeks to get the flu shot and the first year post op they highly recommend it. I forget to ask at my 2 week check up and my dr never mentioned it.

I volunteer in my kids classrooms all the time. Yesterday kids were coughing and sneezing all over me???? I am sure my immune system probably took a bit of a hit having surgery.

So I was wondering what your surgeons suggest when it comes to the flu shots?

I have never had a flu shot, and then last year I got the flu. It was not fun. Despite that, this year I did not get the flu shot because I'm really not around people who frequently have the flu. If you are around kids a lot, a flu shot sounds like a really good idea. You are probably fine to get the flu shot now, but why wait until December to ask? Call your doctor and ask on Monday, or depending on your time zone, now if they haven't closed for the day.

I had the flu shot once and never EVER again. I was so ill with the flu, having never had more than a mild cold before. We get them free at work.

No thanks lol

Mine insisted we were up to date on everything from mammogram to flu shots. But I get a flu shot every year anyway (and a mammogram) so I was all set.

I have had a flu shot every year since forever. The only time I had a bad reaction was with the swine flu vaccine in 1976. Guess who never gets the flu.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
