Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted November 18, 2015 @@VSGAnn2014 wow! Never thought I'd see the day you were called out as a negative Nancy. That's a term much better suited for me! I've actually been trying real hard to approach things with a more positive attitude. It's a grief therapy thing. That's why I thought I'd come back after a bit of a BP hiatus. But now I see why I left. It's all a bit too dysfunctional and frustrating to be therapeutic. Love ya chica! I've missed your posts. Sending you virtual hugs. I am glad to hear you are in grief therapy. Of all the therapy and counseling I have had in my life, I found grief counseling particularly helpful.
glitter eyes 1,398 Posted November 18, 2015 I think @@VSGAnn2014 wasn't trying to be a downer. We are all at different points in our weight loss process which means different things to us all. Ones who are early out or who are in the active weight loss phase are going to eat different from those of us who are in maintenance. I will eat very different this year at post op month 17 than I ate last year. If anything I think VSGAnn2014's comment should be taken as encouragement or like a "light at the end of a tunnel". Because sometimes people get to the point where food is just not important anymore and that's a good thing!! I really haven't thought much about what I am going to eat either. I will just eat what everyone else is eating, if I feel like it I will eat dessert. Eating perfect or eating unhealthy choices on a holiday is up to the individual. I just hope everyone has a Happy and safe Thanksgiving.

enjoythetime 1,457 Posted November 18, 2015 A HUGE HELPING of: Thankfulness Gratefulness Appreciation I'm not concerned about what l'll be eating, I'll just be thankful that I'm not where I was three years ago; I'm thankful for how drastically my life has changed. I now put more thought into what will I wear vs. what will I not be able to wear after the holidays. That's no longer a concern for me and whooooa what a huge relief that is! I hope everyone enjoys their Thanksgiving!
sprocket 104 Posted November 18, 2015 (edited) I'll have a little bit of turkey and, probably, a very little bit of stuffing. Unfortunately, I've never been a fan of the majority of the traditional foods served at Thanksgiving. @@VSGAnn2014 : "It's just food." You are so, so right! ♥dreamable 189 Posted November 20, 2015 I will *STILL* be on pureed only foods. So obviously mashed potatoes and we make a special family recipe for dressing (ie stuffing) and I plan on throwing a few bites that of that into the food processor and enjoying that for a treat. Otherwise I plan on eating normal, getting my Protein in and liquids
Chelle Bean 51 Posted November 20, 2015 hopefully Clear Liquids in hopes I get my approval from insurance company!
turbomom22 21 Posted November 21, 2015 Hmmmm...I think I'll be drinking Protein since I get home from surgery the day before Thanksgiving. Sorry in advance to my family.
MaryPh 78 Posted November 21, 2015 Cornish hen, puréed cauliflower and maybe green Beans for me. Hubby will want ham, potatoes, yams and corn, so we'll fix a variety. Already reminded him we can fix it all, but not in the giant quantities we usually have. It helps me that our son and his wife also have been sleeved, and their family will be our only guests this year.
mskami77 295 Posted November 21, 2015 The menu is turkey, brisket, stuffing, collard/turnip/mustard greens with chicken breast, spinach salad, sweet potatoes, Mac n cheese, banana pudding, sweet potato pie and fresh fruit salad. I'll be eating just the turkey, greens, spinach salad and maybe fruit salad but I get the pleasure of cooking everything. :-)
