jissellam 0 Posted November 13, 2015 Hi. I'm writing about my upcoming surgery and would like to share about it with you all. I'm a 25 year old woman from Rhode Island with a starting weight of 345lbs. I've began this process earlier this year and finally got my surgery date set for December 2nd. I'm currently on day two of my pre op liquid diet and so far so good despite being a little bit tired. Thankfully I have a great support system consists of close friends and family. I can't wait to get this over with and start on a clean slate.
NewLifeFinny 22 Posted November 13, 2015 Welcome! I'm starting at 348, dropped to 342 on Day 5 of my pre-op diet, and have RNY on 11/16. Let's keep in touch since we're the same size and starting at the same time! Wishing you all the best, jissellam!
hildaruiz29 16 Posted November 18, 2015 Keep the excellent job, you can do this! Try chewable vitamins, some taste like a starburst but without the sugar. I'm in my second week of liquid and I need to chew in something so I bought my bariatric Vitamins in chewable form. That way I can chew on something
Sleeved11/13/15 9 Posted November 18, 2015 Hi! I am a 39 year old female from Alabama. My starting weight is 290. I am 5 days post op. I'd love to find others going thru what I am right now.
jissellam 0 Posted December 12, 2015 I apologize for the long hiatus but happy to say my RNY surgery went well. Not too much pain and was able to walk like I normally did before surgery. Got discharged after two days and so far everything is going smoothly as planned. Drinking my fluids is a little challenging but not impossible to manage and the shakes filled me up pretty quickly. Luckily I didn't get any nausea from anesthesia the day of my surgery and no gas pain shortly after I went home. I guess it's safe to say I was one of the lucky ones who don't have any side effects so far. For weight loss, so far I've lost 25lbs from the pre op diet on 11/11 till now. I think it's a good start for me and hopefully it'll be that way for the next few months
Kym Preslar 21 Posted December 15, 2015 I am 6 days post op and I had no nausea at all. Stayed one night in hospital then went home. Dr. said I am doing great! Had a gas bubble to get out but other than that I feel great and have been walking since I got out of surgery. This has been a great experience for me so far.
