Recommended Posts

SassyNanny,

I have also lost the same amount as you I just saw my surgeon last Thursday and had all my blood work done . My bloodwork came out good except I need more Protein .

I have thrown out a lot of clothes and yes clothes do fit me big but I guess I was hoping to of lost more than I have.

I do also have premier shakes but per my nut I will start having a shake at least 1 time a day.

I have not been able to attend a supporting yet but I will this month. Have you attended any support groups ?

You all are my support group also.. I have lost 27 lbs but it tends to fluctuate 3 to 4lbs .. doctors says that everyone drops weight differently as long as I lose I'm doing fine. I lost a big bulk of my weight prior to surgery which makes my total loss 127lbs..I was in a 28 now in a 22 size

WOW.....Congrats !! Its hearing things like this that frustrates me about how slow my progress is..

Since surgery I always feel like I am on the verge of tears.

How did you lose so much and how long did it take you ?

Don't let me frustrate you. I started losing during my physician monitored diet for insurance. It took me a year to lose 100lbs the last 18 lbs of it was with my pre op diet. I feel that since surgery my progress has been slow.. and it makes me feel the same.. but as I told my doctor this they said everyone loses different and as long as I'm losing it is good..

Happy Easter everyone!! Have not posted here before. I am a November 2016 sleevers and today I hit my half way weight loss goal of 68 pounds. Coming off a little slower now but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Feeling much better and gaining my self confidence back.

So far I have attended 2 and they are pretty informative. Mine are a mix of pre op and post op and vets that have kept the weight off for year plus.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
