I had a terrible day UGH! Help?

Recommended Posts

I'm pmsing which is something I've always had a issue with. I get really hungry for the worse kind of things and today was no exception.

I ate about 8 miniature snickers and a small bag of lays potato chips. I'm feeling extra guilty but also hate the urges and cravings that come with my period. I've been trying so hard but sometimes I can't stay in control as much as I'd like or need to.

Does anyone have any tips to help with pmsing and all the cravings and wrecklessness?!

I am so sorry to hear you are struggling with this.

I would suggest you find some healthy alternatives.

If you are craving chocolate, can you try some chocolate Protein shakes, chocolate Calcium chews, or even chocolate pudding? WonderSlim has a dark chocolate Protein pudding that is pretty good. Also, Quest has a double chocolate chunk bar that I like a lot. Protein hot chocolate is also a good way to get a chocolate fix.

If all else fails, try a small sized version of good quality dark chocolate. If I am going to indulge, I would choose quality.

As for the chips, you might try to find some protein chips for crunch. I recently discovered Mr. cheese O's which are really crunchy. They have become my post-swim snack pretty frequently.

I am sure other folks have ideas that may help.

@@cal2okl -- I have no suggestions for not indulging in junk food. What I do suggest is not wasting time and burning energy over "extra guilty." Guilt is a futile, often self-indulgent, emotion that sets you back from finding workable strategies. This of course is not to say I'm exempt, but I try to remind myself when I'm rolling in it. (It was decades ago that my view of guilt evolved from something unrelated to food or weight.)

Hey thank you so much for the advice and suggestions I will definitely use them and search for those items at the grocery store tomorrow.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
