Well.......I'm seeing the 3-4 week stall. Interdasting !

Recommended Posts

I've read all the posts on it........some stall.......some don't.

All I know is that I have followed the plan and done what I was supposed to.....activity has been low and I'm upping that now as back feels better and hernia repair has healed along nicely.

Surgeon saw me Monday and said he's not concerned with first month's scale readings.

He started me on soft foods and challenged me to experiment with various Proteins and to stay well hydrated and have fun with it.

Scale hasn't moved in over a week which has been weird.......but clothes continue to get more baggy and I feel better each day.

I'm sticking to the plan and enjoying the changes and see how easy it is to get overly scale-focused.

All is well. All is on course. Just had to laugh and say that I had the same 3-4 week stall that I'd seen posted so often.

No worries. All is good. Just a funny occurrence along the way towards losing the weight.

It's a right of passage...at least you were prepared. I feel sorry for the folks who have no idea that it's going to happen.

Has it really already been three weeks since your surgery? Wow, time really flies.

I'm hitting my first stall at three and half months out. I'm going to just embrace and go a long for the ride. Well I don't really have much of a choice in the matter. Lol ????

The unpreppared......wow. I'd have been pissed off royally and gone on a serious rant......."You mean I gotta stay on this ridiculous liquid diet forever....just to lose weight........I want a refund and I want my old stomach back.....Now". Like that would have done any good, right ?

It would have been a shocker. Another example of how the fine folks here have helped me tremendously.

Time does fly.....it's been 4 weeks and one day.

Good luck brother. I like your attitude.

Thank you, sir !!!!!!!!

This last year and a half I felt like a victim......out of control over things.....having to go from one specialist to another to get things addressed.

Now.....now.....I AM IN CONTROL. It feels freaking great. The sleeve is done....other stuff corrected......healing up nicely and I'm in control of where things go from here on out.

It is a liberating feeling.

What's really cool is I'm now in touch with my inner carnivore. I have no problem living off salmon, tuna, chicken, beef Jerky, etc. There are no suprises. It's like the Atkins diet only better.

This weekend I'm gonna fire up my trusty grill and cook up some whole chickens and make a batch of chicken salad and a batch of white chicken chili to enjoy for workweek lunches the following week. First thing that is going on that bad boy is a slab-o-salmon with a mild pepper glaze.

Life is good.

Lean life is gooder. :D

@@Dub - Brother I hope you are measuring yourself. http://www.amazon.com/AccuFitness-MT05-MyoTape-Body-Measure/dp/B000G7YW7Y makes it much easier

That's a neat trick right there.

I used to have one a few years ago when I was weight training like a beast. Always measuring my biceps. Couldn't help it, It was freaking addictive.

Only type of measurment I've really taken note of now is the tag end of my belt which is growing. I like it.

Only thing we can do is to nail down our behaviors and simply let it ride.........................................

Some weeks I have a huge drop 5+ and than the next week it will get "stuck". I drink my Water and do what I am supposed to. I feel amazing and the scale will come. I weigh daily because it doesn't affect my brain. When I do official weigh in's monthly that is when I will have to deal with the muscle mass loss or gain. My first 4 weeks I gained 6 lbs of muscle. They were thrilled that I built muscle.

Man, I can't believe you are already one month post op. The days just keep going by faster and faster. I have to tell you Dub, you have probably the best attitude about everything related to this surgery that I have read on here. You're a better man than I.

I have hit my first real stall. Just completed 3 weeks of lose/gain 1 pound. I'm not too angry about it, more curious than anything. I just have to find out what I am needing to beat the thing. Is it time to up my calories? Do I need to lower them? More Fluid? More exercise? Less? Meh... I'll figure it out sometime. I mean, I have the rest of my life, right?

Thanks, man.

I had a great doctor's visit with my primary doc yesterday. It's easy to be upbeat after such a visit. He's a very positive person and helps get his patients enthused about getting healthy. His nurse is super....really personable and a real sweetheart. She's always fun to talk to. Months ago, she introduced me to an office staff member......a sleeved office staff member. A very helpful conversation followed. It was cool when I checked out yesterday and scheduled my next appointment......my sleeved buddy was the one who assisted me. Another great conversation about sleeved life.

My doc was really happy with the weight loss over the last 6 months. He shook his head and grinned when we both agreed that it has occurred while doing zero exercise and minimal walking for work. Low activity weight loss.......not at all how I want to approach it.

Back and knees are getting better every week, though.....and the treadmills and elliptical machines await.

Ordered some new superbadass running shoes and have been loading my iPod with pumping tunes. The groundwork is laid for the gym sessions.......very soon.

Then, I'm thinking this plane will get off the ground and go places.....

I love your referrals to physical fitness. For weight loss, I have always heard that occurs 90% from the kitchen. Don't only rely on your love for the gym... which I know you wont, you are so committed! You have done amazing to date, keep on keeping on.

Your enthusiasm is contagious. You will go far with that positive attitude! ????

On a side note, white chicken chili? That sounds awesome! I just started puréed and I'm writing up recipes for when I get to each stage.

Cheers to much success on your journey!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
