I got got. I was ready to share my enjoyment of a good Protein drink or shake. I see what you did there. Bait and switch. Well, I don't love Protein drinks either. But I like them in a friend sort of way. Like we can hang out after school at the pizza hut, but we aren't hanging out in the woods behind the school making out.

(blush)

I actually do like my Protein drink -- GNC Lean 25 shake - Swiss chocolate and (lately) pumpkin Spice. I still have 4-5 Protein shakes a week for Breakfast when I'm on the run.

So sue me! ;)

And I also like walking, especially one route that goes around a beautiful park.

Yeah, I'm just a teacher's pet, hall monitor, kinda kid. LOL!

I like them the same way I like pumpkin, long division and the 49ers...

Not at all!!!

I still love my 49ers even though it's very painful this year....about as painful as long division!!

I quite like them... as a jelly, slushie, mousse or quasi ice-cream.

Compared to a prostate exam, "They're Great!".

(Unless someone enjoys prostate exams, then in that case I guess it would have to be what flavor Protein shake) :)

49rs are my team too!

I can't believe I just proudly exclaimed that....

They are pretty embarrassing this year :(

I like playing around and creating healthy, low cal concoctions. In fact, I have some pumpkin puree so I may be making pumpkin drinks next week.

@@Babbs

The only reason I don't spit on the ground when I say their name is the fact that Jarryd Hayne from my Rugby League team in Australia is there...

I've even watched a couple of their games because of Jarryd...

Having said all that...

Go Packers!!!

@@KindaFamiliar - How odd this is. Who thinks about long division? Think of how many people have never heard of it since the advent of "new math (is it called that where you are?)" and the abacus. It came to mind yesterday as I thought about my father and things he taught me when I was a child. Long division bedeviled me in 6th grade; he got me through. When I can't get hold of a calculator, it's long division to the rescue.

Not even pumpkin pie? My first taste was in my 30's (honest) and it's been love ever since. This season I've pumpkified myself in other ways. It's a short season.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
