Favorite hot beverage

@Engteacher. OMG, I'm obsessed with fat free Fairlife milk. I drink 2 cups almost every night. I make it hot with organic cacao powder and stevia! Seriously, no matter how stressful my day is......one sip and I'm transported to my blissful space! The best part is.... most days I don't manage to get in enough calories unless I make an effort to graze all day; so with my hot chocolate I'm getting 26gms Protein, under 200 calories and did I mention. ....being transported to my blissful place.

I use a couple tablespoons of sugar-free Torani flavored Syrup in my coffee, along with 2-3 tablespoons of light vanilla almond or soy milk, or fat-free Fairlife milk. Lately I've been into mixing 1 tb of the chocolate syrup and 1 tb of the salted caramel... not quite the same as a Starbucks salted caramel mocha, but pretty darn good!

Starbucks skinny peppermint lattes. Not perfect, but just what I want to keep my brain quiet for the whole day. And they obviously come Decaf. 'Tis the season, even with those tasteless red cups!

i was at GNC a few days ago

picked up 3 cases of GNC Total Lean shake 25 gr protein!!

(swiss chocolate)

(buy one case, other 1/2 price!!) too good to pass up

salesperson suggested i microwave the shake :rolleyes:

nuked, stirred, nuked etc for total of 2 minutes

yum yum yum

"warmth"/hot keeps my little tummy happy for a long time

I tried heating up the GNC choc lean shake 25 premix with a little skim milk on the stove....YUMMO! It's my new hot cocoa! Thanks for the suggestion proudgrammy!

Tazo brand Wild Sweet Orange tea is AMAZING!!! I love it more than I can say and it reminds me a little of the "russian tea" my mom used to make when I was a kid with tang and nestea.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
