Favorite hot beverage

Recommended Posts

I was so cold last night that I wanted something hot to drink to warm me up. What is your favorite decaffeinated hot beverage? I haven't had caffeine yet even though I know we can. coffee, hot chocolate or tea suggestions?

Peppermint tea with a splash of lemon. Sometimes I even add a bit of unflavored Protein Powder to it.

@@jenlovestim

question above is timely/funny to me

i was at GNC a few days ago

picked up 3 cases of GNC Total Lean shake 25 gr protein!!

(swiss chocolate)

(buy one case, other 1/2 price!!) too good to pass up

salesperson suggested i microwave the shake

nuked, stirred, nuked etc for total of 2 minutes

yum yum yum

"warmth"/hot keeps my little tummy happy for a long time

proudgrammy I really like the GNC total lean chocolate shakes cold...I never thought to heat them up. Thanks for the tip! I don't like the bariatric hot cocoa's I have tried...they taste "fake". As for me and hot bev's I like Decaf hazelnut coffee. It's my morning indulgence.

I found a blueberry tea at Wholefoods that I had been drinking on ice for a few weeks when I decided to nuke it and had a little Splenda. It was pretty good and Country Peach from Celestial Seasonings is good warmed with a splash of cream!

If you have a teavanna near you they have amazing decaffeinated loose leaf teas that you buy by the ounce. I have a chai and chamomile blend that I drink in the winter time

Protein'd Chai

Nestea instant tea, (decaf if you like)

vanilla Protein powder

ginger

cinnamon

ground cloves

You can use Water or milk or a combo of the 2

Heat you liquid without the whey in it or it will clump

You may have to experiment with how hot the liquid can be, (I recommend less than boiling) or it may cook your whey - blech!

Toss in a ball shaker and shake once, then butp, twice the burp, rinse and repeat until you get it mixed well. Hot liquids + whey in the shaker can be volitile if you don't burp them so don't skip that part!

Don't make any more than you can drink in a sitting, because you'll not want to put this in the microwave and warm it up. Again, chunks, yuk!

Pour in a mug (I use a go-cup thermos to retain the heat) and enjoy a spicy, foamy creamy high Protein treat!

You can do the same with coffee. I do a protein'd latte every morning!

Good luck!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
