I know everyone is different but I think people can determine arbitrary if I'm on the right track or if I need to get my shit together

I started out 216 pounds on August 4th

Now it's Nov 9th and I'm 173.8, so I've lost about 42 pounds in 3 months..

I haven't been working out every single day because I'm in exam season and I'm really stressed and on a time crunch..have I not lost enough weight? will I stop loosing weight now that I lost 42 pounds?

My goal is to be 132-143 pounds, which means I'll have to lose 42-31 more pounds...do you think that's possible? Or is my goal too high?

Problems:

I eat carbs

Your weight loss is on the express track. Your thinking about your weight loss, however, has derailed.

Surgery practices generally say that the target is 1-3 lbs averaged per week. You do the arithmetic. If 42 lbs isn't good enough and already being half-way to the high end of your goal range isn't good enough, demand a refund from the surgeon.

Get it? You're fine.

You are absolutely on track and this is a great pace at which to be because that means more of your weight loss will be permanent (i.e., you are very unlikely to experience the dreaded regain that occurs at about one year out). You are also on the slim side (although I am guessing you are not too much taller than five feet) to begin, and therefore, you should be thinking about your weight loss as a matter of percentage. The people who start at 400+ (or even like me, 300+) will obviously lose faster than you in terms of actual weight, because a certain percentage of their weight is much more than the same percentage of yours. That said, initially, they have a higher percentage of excess weight, and therefore even their percentage reduction will be faster than yours, but it should be more comparable.

To answer your question, no, your weight loss is also not about to stop, and it will even accelerate if you find away to manage your carb weakness. But honestly, it really doesn't seem like it has been a huge impediment to you thus far.

Relaaaaax...

You're doing fine...

You've lost 20% of your body weight in 3 months..
At this rate you'll hit your target in another three months...

If that's not fast enough for you then you're kinda hard to please...

Don't worry about working out...

Not yet anyway...

That can be dealt with when you have time...

As far as carbs go, some will say that the choice you're making is a bad one, but others will say not to worry too much...

I say, do what you've gotta do, but be aware that some choices are definitely better than others...

And when you start to get all 'stressed' and whatever, think about this...

Your starting weight of 216 pounds is target weight for some people (me, for example)...

Good luck to you...

Let us know how you're getting along...

By the way, I'm August 6th, two days after you, so I'll be happy to let you know when I think my weight loss has completely stopped. I am currently at a stall just below 200, but you should also not get discouraged by these. People tend to write this sort of post when they have been in a stall, and you really need to learn to just wait it out and not get dismantled mentally by it. They can actually be beneficial by allowing your set point to catch up with your weight loss so that regain becomes less and less likely.

You've lost over 10 lbs a month, you're doing fine.

Why would you think that you're done losing at this point? You're only 3 months out. If you're in a stall, that's a totally normal thing. It'll pass, the scale will keep going down.

What kind of carbs do you eat? Personally, I try to keep my carbs in the 50-60 grams per day range, and I mainly stick to oatmeal, Beans, fruits, and non-starchy veggies. I've had (non-fried) potatoes in very small amounts, and a little bit of corn in Soup. I'm 9 pounds from goal at 5 months out. I wouldn't recommend white bread, Pasta, or rice at this point, but I also am not someone who believes that all carbs are evil.

I'd say you're right on schedule. In fact you and I are very similar. My surgery date was 07/29/15 and my surgery weight was 216. I'm 169 today. I'm very pleased with my results so far. You should be too!

I gave myself a year to reach my goal of 130.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
