kjnrose 2 Posted November 9, 2015 I had the Bypass surgery in June, since then I haven't had any problems with eating little bits of sugar, now it makes me really tired and feel like I'm going to pass out. I've never been diabetic and my blood sugar is usually about 80 or so fasting. Is it possible I'm now diabetic or is this normal?
Mogwaicat 80 Posted November 9, 2015 http://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/diabetes/expert-answers/reactive-hypoglycemia/faq-20057778 Talk to your surgeon, I've heard this can happen to a lot of us after surgery.
toasty 371 Posted November 16, 2015 Sure sounds like a form of dumping to me. The symptoms of dumping syndrome are curiously like that of hypoglycemia. Feelings like you are going to faint, sweating, dizziness, cramps, nausea, and diarrhea, either one or more of those symptoms, are common. Since you are feeling faint, sounds like a form of dumping. You probably shouldn't eat sugar anymore. Even little bits.

sarahbee 46 Posted November 20, 2015 I have the same thing if I eat too much sugar. No dumping In the diarrhea sense but I get extremely tired and feel miserable.
