My first post: Italiana, living in Switzerland, operated in Poland ????

Recommended Posts

Hello my new friends!

I'm posting for the first time in this fantastic forum! I've been reading you for a few weeks now, so I thought i'd better intruduce myself. I'm a 34 year old Mamma of a toddler, Italian, graduated in the UK, now living in Switzerland for the last 9 years. I had the VSG on October 31st at KCM Clinic in Jelenia Gora, in Poland.

I had the lap band in 2006, through to 2012, when I had to have it removed because it displaced itself upwards. Then had my son and piled a lot of weight to reach 328lbs before the pre-op diet.

Now I'm down to 302 lbs , and already feeling the benefits of a lighter me. ????

I decided to go to Poland to get it done relatively fast and cheaper.

I'm very happy to join your Family, and look forward to posting more snd reading you more.

I also have a blog where I tell my story in a bit more details.

Thanks!

Barbara

Welcome to the site. This journey is quite an adventure.

I am curious about having surgery in Poland. What kind of post-surgery support you are receiving? Do you have a nutritionist (NUT)? Were you provided with a comprehensive plan post-op food plan?

Hello all-who-replied!

About the op in Poland, the post-op service is basically non-existant.. But I have a good network here in Switzerland (NUT, endocrinologist, surgeon and Gestalt therapist), which I built myself over the years, since I have been flirting with the opration idea for years..

Thanks for your warm welcome! More videos to come to my blog ????

Barbaras Rock!

It's great to hear you have built a support team. That is so critical for your success in my opinion.

I look forward to hearing about your journey.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
