You have yet to tell us how much you have gained; 1 pound, 2 pounds, 3 pounds?

It sounds like you are in a stall; me too for 8 days now, I have heard some who it lasts for a month or more. we just have to keep on doing things right and the scale will start moving again!! (I tell myself this everyday)

Don't give up, it's too soon for that

I know 7 pounds sounds like a lot, but it's really not. I think it does show that a slip here & there can be dangerous. Follow up with your doctor. I suspect a few months with fewer to no slip ups & you may have the scale going in the right direction again.

7lbs gained. How much of that might just be Water due to weather or sodium intake or time of the month. Too soon to give up. Lots of other people here have hit stalls and been so upset. Plenty to read here that will help you through this. Revision is no guarantee of dumping syndrome, some people don't get that. As said before you can't compare your loss to another person's we are all different. My friend and I had it done the same day and both our losses are different but we eat together a lot and the rest of the time eat pretty much the same. Hang in there you can get back on track and keep losing.

gained weight back and I wanted to know if a revision this early as possible.? I'm very upset with the weight gain. I'm considering making an emergency appointment with my nurse practitioner of my Weight Loss Center to discuss other options or to ask what could be wrong I know I'm doing everything right I' I have snuck a few sweet drinks in every now and then and honey bumn, yes don't reply with any bad messages please cuz I know I've done wrong but every time I had one of those sweets...

Revision at three months? Stop that. Two facts to work with here: You did lose weight post-surgery and you're very upset about gaining. Solution: Figure out what changed and why and be honest about your direct contributions to it. Let's call it 'womaning up,' the first step to taking charge.

If you think that what's coming is a "bad" message, it's because I'm working from "bad" information, i.e., none or whitewashed. I'm not at all unsympathetic. I get that you're feeling let down and are even freaking, but you'll get nowhere if you're not absolutely honest with yourself. WLS and the follow-through are grown-up matters.. I've been around the WLS scene long enough and am old enough and enough of an observer of human behavior and enough theaters to recognize tap-dancing.

Your expectations have been unrealistic, primarily proved by your thinking of revision. Then I saw your comment, "I was discouraged and I gave up." Important, useful information. You've waved off the sugary drinks and honey Buns (I prefer cinnamon buns with raisins) with "every now and then," which implies once a week. Not believable (remember, I've seen and heard a lot). Be sure to include the sweets in your food journal with accuracy as to amounts. No one wants to confess such things to the RD, NP or surgeon, but they're not stupid. An accurate food journal is also a valuable learning tool for you.

Speaking of NP and,or RD, sure, make an appointment. Be open about needing guidance and maybe a tweaking of plane It's not, however an emergency appointment. No bleeding? No extreme pain? No compound fracture? No emergency.. When you call, just say you'd like the earliest possible appt.

Why pooh-pooh 48 lbs. lost? That's no "only" under any circumstances. Grumping about it shows unrealistic expectations. Another thing that's fishy: Not being precise about how much you've gained. It implies that it's all of 0.3 lb. Even if it is higher, my point is never to undervalue a weight loss or be evasive about missteps. Focus on them with clear vision so that you can build on them or correct them, whichever the case.

Support is important. Participate in BP and definitely attend your practice's support group.

we've probably had so many instances of losing-gaining-losing that when we do see a gain after a loss, we throw in the towel. if you work the tool, that won't be your outcome...you'll lose the weight. stalls, in the beginning, are discouraging. for me, after seeing the pattern of losing then stalling or even gaining before another big loss, i am no longer discouraged by the stalls. i knew i would stall after getting to 199...i sat there for about 10 days. already lost 4 lbs in last 3 days. be patient and kind to yourself. :)

@prettyMe2716 -- some of the things I honked about were answered by you while I was typing away, but I won't edit now.

Another thing that I meant to mention: People who less physically fit generally burn calories more slowly than the fit ones. It takes us longer to torch the sodas and buns...literally and figuratively. (The double-entendre is fortuitous. I love when it happens)

The sooner you calm yourself, the sooner you'll be back on track with confidence.

I know. I can do it. I did it to lose 48lbs I just don't understand why I gained. Ya I ate a few things I shouldn't have but I work it off. I'm still only walking a mile I have back issues and that keeps me from walking anymore. But I try.

How many calories per day are you eating? I learned I have to eat around 800/day to lose. I still find that to be absurd and almost unbelievable, but it's my truth. And while it's good and recommended to exercise, it's had minimal impact on my weight loss.

One other thing - my surgeon won't do revisions for people who don't lose, or lose and gain weight back. He says its not going to help.

But,yes, you are in control of you, and you CAN do this! :)

I had bypass and don't dump so don't consider that surgery only because you think you would. 48 pounds is quite a lot and as for your friend who lost 100 pounds in 3 months, well maybe I shouldn't say what I really think about that but frankly I call BS.

You need to see a therapist and work through some of these head and heart issues. No amount of surgeries can fix that. Don't get discouraged. Just get back on plan.

How much weight have you gained back? If it is three pounds or less, it may be glycogen or Water retention, especially if you aren't being diligent about your water intake. Nothing a honey bun and some sweet drinks couldn't do in the course of a single meal. But when you exercise, those are the first three to fall off.

I am another one with bypass and don't dump for foods that should trigger it. It comes down to me not eating something simply because I shouldn't not because I can. Unfortunately, there are a lot of foods that I should be able to eat and can't so a revision isn't necessarily your answer to your situation. Keep your eye and mind on the journey!

Im having revision December 1st due to small intestine damaged during original surgery (2013) , its a must, but gaining a fee pounds isnt reason for revision kust start back from beginning with liquids if needed.

      Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
      1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

        All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

      I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
