I had gastric sleeve August 18th 2015. Currently I have already gained weight back and I wanted to know if a revision this early as possible.? I'm very upset with the weight gain I lost very slowly since August 18th. I had only lost about 48 pounds and then I started to gain. I'm considering making an emergency appointment with my nurse practitioner of my Weight Loss Center to discuss other options or to ask what could be wrong I know I'm doing everything right I'm eating great portions and great meals I have snuck a few sweet drinks in every now and then and honey bumn, yes don't reply with any bad messages please cuz I know I've done wrong but every time I had one of those sweets... I worked my ass off to get the calories worked off. I have accomplished over a mile of walking, I do Weight and I do spinning but no more weight is coming off its just gaining what do i do, what do you think?.

Well 48lbs since August is amazing! The other stuff, please see your doctor as planned. I had a one month and a three month check up with my surgeon. It was a part of my post up plan. Best.

I see him every month. And then I think I'll see him every three months. I made those few mistakes (I'm human) but I'm still gaining and I dont know why. And I don't have a scale to see what I am now. It broke(all glass)

Yeah, 48 lbs in less than 3 months is awesome. What does your doctors' office say since you see them every month?

Try journaling your daily food, Protein, liquids, exercise and quantities of each?

I need to get back to doing that, especially the measuring portion to remind me of a serving size.

Don't get discouraged. You will lose the weight.

Why consider a revision if you know that you aren't following the plan for the first surgery?

You say you are eating good meals, but the only specifics you mention, like honey Buns and sugary drinks, aren't on any plan I've seen.

Are you tracking what you eat?

Are you reaching your Protein and Fluid targets every day?

Are you taking your Vitamins and supplements as required?

Are you making all of your follow-up surgical appointments?

Have you talked with your NUT lately?

A revision seems like a very drastic step to take, especially if you are dissatisfied with your progress but not following your program? What makes you think you would follow it any better after a revision?

Just curious, not trying to be mean.

To add, reading between the lines it looks like you had good progress and then got discouraged and gave up when you hit a stall. If I am right, then below is a link to a post I made a while back that might be helpful.

Stalls are a normal, natural, and necessary part of the process.

Embrace the Stall!

Here are some practical steps you can take while you are waiting for an appointment with your team.

Plan ahead. Make sure that your pantry and fridge are supplied with the foods that are on your plan. Then plan on one day what you might eat on the next day. It might be a good idea to stay with lean meats like chicken, turkey, fish etc. and not indulge in sausages, cold cuts, hot dogs, etc. I broke one stall by forsaking cheese and Peanut Butter for a while when I discovered that my tablespoon of Peanut Butter was more like six tablespoons of peanut butter.

Measure and weigh your food. Kitchen scales are very cheap. I have even seen them at the Dollar Store. Use the scientific principle that you cannot control that which you do not measure. It is sooooooo easy to get away from proper portions when you go back to "eyeballing" it.

I am one of those people who does weigh every day. My NUT suggested that I put it away for a month and see what happens. I gained ten pounds! By weighing daily, a gain of .4 pounds is easier to recover from than a gain of 4 whole pounds. Opinions vary on the usefulness of this, but I need it.

Don't beat yourself up. You have a good head start. Look up the lyrics of Frank Sinatra's THAT'S LIFE. I wish you the best, and I am going to send you a private message.

I journal everything except fulids cause Dr just want a to see food. I reach my goals I guess for fulid and protien. I don't have a NUT I just have the NP at my weight loss center. I keep every appt and I tell them everything. I take my meds/vitamins. I was discouraged and I gave up. But I also knew what I put in my mouth was wrong and I worked out harder to work those things off. And I know if I had a revision I would have to follow the rules cause I'd get dumping syndrome and get sick. Its just a thought. I haven't had a sweet in 2 days and before my scale broke I was still gaining. I exercise 5x a week. I hate it but I do it. 30-40 minutes. I journal my exercise as well. I don't know if its a stall or I just put on a lil weight for a lil while. Its been on for a week. I don't k ow how to get it off. And people may thing 48lbs is good but I do t think so. I have a friend d who had surgery the same day as me she does the same as me and she is down over 100lbs since pre op. That's what I expected but I got a dumb 48 pounds. I'm just not happy with that.

You don't need a revision on your stomach. You need a revision of your mind.

No amount of re sleeving, banding, bypassing, revision from sleeve to bypass, revision from band to sleeve, or revision from band to bypass will help you become successful if your head isn't in the game.

Get your head back in game. I know you can!

Oh, and edited to add:

I lost 50 pounds in 6 months. Then it took an additional 6 months to lose another 35 and get to my goal. I didn't give up, because I know if I did, I wouldn't be where I am today. I'm almost 95 pounds down, below my goal, running 3 miles and can currently squeeze my ass in a size 4/6. I'm 48 and feel and look 38. But I had to WORK for it. I fought and scrapped for every pound lost. Some of us have to, and that's okay.

If I can do it, so can you.You just gotta want it bad enough.

You can't compare your progress with your friend. We all have different starting weights, heights, ages, metabolisms, etc. you can only focus on you.

I know. I can do it. I did it to lose 48lbs I just don't understand why I gained. Ya I ate a few things I shouldn't have but I work it off. I'm still only walking a mile I have back issues and that keeps me from walking anymore. But I try.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

      2. BlondePatriotInCDA

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
