We need more information; what are you eating, how much, how often? have you spoken with your surgeon? He might be the best one to ask.

thank you so much for a response. it means a great deal to me. i am eating fruits n cooked veges. meat does not do well at all with me. i eat something every 4 hours and then only small amounts. like 1/4 cup; which i use a measuring cup to eat out of. Jello n ice pops are fine; yet the Protein shakes hit my stomach like lead and i have to lay down so as not to wrench. I agree with your comment about the doctor. He was not a very open doctor. He was in and out before I could get any questions in. But now I will call him back and see if I can get some insight as to why. one thing he told me in the hospital when I was wreathing in Pain, "You seem to be having it harder than most". Dah :-) again thank you

How are you getting your Protein in if not doing shakes? You have to have Protein in some way to stay healthy. Are you drinking with your meals or waiting 30 minutes after? Other than that, I will tell you that I still have some nausea issues at 5 months post-op. It is not every day and is getting better but I was told some people just have some of that as an issue; HOWEVER, I had a stricture which is now repaired and I feel SO Much better and puking has stopped (unless I stupidly eat too much). If you are having trouble and food is consistently coming up, you may need to be checked for a stricture. Write down your symptoms for say a week (i.e. what you ate, when you are nauseas, when you vomit, etc.) and then take that to your doctor. You may also want to call your Nutritionist for ideas on how to get protein in. It is a must.

thank you so much for replying. and yes I do not take in many Proteins. meats don't sit well with me and the Proteins drink 1/4 cup sits like lead in my stomach. I have to lie down so as not to bring it up again. I will take your advise and chart my intake and symtoms and call the dietision and then doctor. It gets me down and I am beginning to worry. Again thanks for your input. Good wishes to you on your journey. Love your picture of your progress....

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
