How minimal is scarring? Is there ways to prevent? Just had my surgery. Two days post op. Just wondering how the incisions will look over time.

I can hardly see mine...

The 'big' one is kinda visible but the rest (4 more) - barely noticeable...

I'm just over 8 moths post-op...

I took this photo about a year postop. The arrows are pointing to my scars. They are even fainter now. I never used any skin products, but my uncle swears by coconut oil.

Except for the biggest scar you can barely see mine. I was really good with caring for my skin. I used scarffade gel then bio oil, but I have really dry skin and moisturize daily anyway.

This is me now, 3 days post op. Should I wait for the glue to naturally fade to put anything on it?

Thank you for all the advice!

Don't pick at the glue. Let it come off by itself.

You shouldn't put anything on the incisions until they have completely healed.

I agree. Don't rub, scrub, or pick at the glue. It will fall off when it's time.

Once the incisions healed, I started using Palmer's cocoa oil or cocoa butter when I get out of the shower.

I was given some surgical soap and told to wash the incisions/scars twice per day gently with soap and Water. I was told to clean them with hydrogen peroxide if they showed any signs of infection. I'm 5 weeks out and two of my scars are just a faint line now. The other two are still healing because I picked at them in my sleep. Oops.

Years ago I had to see a plastic surgeon to have a mole on my face removed. She told me anytime you have a surgery scar us Vitamin e oil. I used it in my face back then and you can't see the scar at all. I still have the glue over my incisions from my sleeve surgery but once it comes off I plan on using the vitamin e oil to help with the scarring.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
