Blender or nutribullet?

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a recommendation? I mean, do I actually need a nutribullet or would a blender work? What are you guys doing?

You do not need a blender or a nutra bullet. It just makes things easier. If you will not use it after the all liquid phase, save your money and invest in a few good blender bottles instead. I had my nutra bullet years before WLS. It's the original version and has served me well.

I have a magic bullet. I like it just fine. I keep it in the break room at work. Hubby has a nutribullet but, he works out & does all his crazy Protein Shakes & stuff. I recommend either. Both great, just your preference

I have both and have not used any since my surgery on Sept 30, 2015. I have a shaker bottle for my Protein shakes. I plan on using my nutribullet soon for my smoothies.

I bought both a blender and a nutribullet. Blender is still in the box. I used the nutribullet about a half dozen times. I find the Protein shakes stick like glue to the inside if you don't wash it immediately. I use blender/shaker bottles most of the time.

Definitely a prefernce thing. I have both a blender and a magic bullet. I bought the magic bullet before surgery and have not used it yet. I do use my blender for making my homemade Soups easier to eat; and my shaker bottle for shakes.< /p>

I have a nutri ninja, I use it all the time. I chose this over a blender because I like that I just throw a cover on the blender container and take it with me. I've always done a lot of shakes and smoothies so I get plenty of use out of it.

I have a Magic Bullet, but I have had it for years. I used it for about 1 week... the week of full liquids. I would puree my Soup, pour my little portion into a coffee cup and microwave it, and put a lid on the rest and stick it in the fridge. Havent used it since. I cant imagine needing a full size blender for anything.

I love, love, love my Vitamix, but now that everything I make is in such small portions, it's not very useful. I'd have to make double the size Protein Shake I'd need to get it to pick it all up in the blades :(

I used a food processor to blend my food during the purée stage. I also have a nutribullet but use it more for smoothies and things of that consistency.

I have had the original nutri bullet for years. I use it for lots of things, scrambled eggs, Protein Shakes,

chopping vegetables, hard boiled eggs, etc. I like it for my shakes because it doesn't leave any clumps.

I have a $15 drink blender from K-Mart and is been brilliant but I've been making slushies with it lately and I think it's about to die. I'm going to get myself a Nutri Ninja Slim for Christmas!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
