@@Dub - Radisson hotels are the ones which were using the sleep number beds. But only certain hotels and only in certain rooms. And sometimes they do not work 'quite' right. If call around and see if you can find one and reserve a room with one. You and your wife may enjoy it! Best of luck!

@@Dub I am almost 7 weeks post surgery and last week my energy levels were terrible despite the week before feeling fine. (BP was fine so that was not the reason). I don't think I am ready that I could try to work 13 hour days at this point with or without a lot of walking and I am a little further out than you. Take it easy and let your body guide you as to how much you can do.

Best of luck! I can tell you will be successful at this battle of the bulge!

7-10 was all I was able to muster this past weekend. Tomorrow starts another round. I'm going for full length runs this time.

Surgeon's visit went well this morning and I was released to try new soft Proteins for 5 small meals per day. I think this will help my energy so long as I get my Water in, too.

I apprettiate your confidence. I'm really wanting to get things right this time in regards to my weight and overall health.

I'm trying to be patient and not take on too much, but I'm ready to get rolling along.

Yep. Those are indeed the ones.

I went by the sleep Number store today and this came up.

I may reserve a room and stay on one first to see.

I only took 5 days off during when I was in pain killers. I worked from home and took a few naps. I was on a tight deadline and had to get something done by the 1st. About week 3 I felt human again and went into the office one day.

The biggest difference for me I only take 1/2 a Tylenol PM at night. If I take more there are issues in the AM getting up.

Also I get light headed so I know my blood pressure has dropped...it was never out of control I just have issues with sodium and Water retention.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
