There are a lot of different factors associated with the weight loss. How far out are you? Are you following a strict diet? Getting enough Water and Protein? Are you exercising? Before getting mad, step back a reevaluate what stage you are at. You will not always see a loss and stalls are very common.

You can't always get what you want. :). We all hate stalls but you have to expect them and keep on going.

Girl we've all been "fat enough" to understand lol. That's why we're here and why we've had surgery. You aren't the first and won't be the last to experience this.

Just take a deep breath and it will pass.

If I get up in the morning and don't see a loss on the scale, I kick something across the room, and then go grab the measuring tape. If I don't see anything there either, I assume it's a stall. But if I do, that's quality weight loss, and the reason it doesn't show on the scale is because a lot of glycogen-associated Water is stored.

@ i dont measure. but i do feel looseness in my clothes. but im still annoyed after a week of hard work to only see one pound. i think i just got spoiled after the first 3 weeks post op to be losing so much so fast and then suddenly .....nothin. but i'm staying on track and hoping to rebound next week. :) just needed to pout.

Being new to this group (and 2 weeks PRE-op, I am so grateful for these forums...it helps me "get in touch" with what to expect so I don't freak smooth out when "I feel" something has veered off my preferred plan. I don't know any of y'all---but already feel like a kindred spirit to so many, having felt, thought and experienced the same things.

To Original poster: Deep breath! Your body has been through some major drama & the "injury" of surgery takes months to completely heal. (I'm a nurse)--- 6 weeks for initial healing, 6 months for total healing. So go easy on yourself.

Weight loss is not Fluid or constant and doesn't happen just when we want it to. Our bodies are weird. There are so many other factors than the calories in/calories out thing going on. I wish it was that simple. Maybe it wouldn't have taken me over a year to lose 85 pounds while stalling many, many times along the way if it was.

Doesn't make it any less annoying. Believe me, I know.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
