@@VDLT - hi there. My NUT says I should be still weighing out my food. I weigh food Until I'm done with weight loss. So my goal is 2 ounces of Protein and 1 ounce of veggie. that's still what I can handle.

@@jhclikesshopping@gmail.com Thanks so much! To clarify you have that per meal so say 2 oz Protein and 1 oz veggie for lunch then again for dinner? I am 5 and a half weeks out and don't really know if I am eating too much. Thanks for sharing.

@@VDLT - yes. Each meal I have 2 oz Protein, 1 oz veggie and 1 oz fruit. This still fills be up (after 8 months). I usually eat 3 meals and 1 snack. I also still have one Protein shake per day. Good luck and let me know if you have more questions.

Three years out, and I still measure and weigh food. It's more the volume than weight, though. I weigh things that don't fit well into measuring cups. I was on 1/4 cup or less per meal to start, then that increased to 1/2 cup. Now, I'm not supposed to eat more than one cup at a time. I don't measure everything, but I still routinely measure a lot. I also track all those calories, because you can pack a lot of calories into a cup, depending on what it is.

My two years are coming up on December 23rd. I still weigh, measure, and log my food, and step on the scale every day. I am not good at estimating portions, so this all keeps me in check. It is so much easier to deal with a small variance that something gone out of control.

I started out post op with my regular foods measuring at 1/4 cup plus one tablespoon, and could only drink my Water an ounce at a time. I just barely got in my 64 ounces of Water.< /p>

Now I can eat 1 cup of something dense, like beef stew, or 2 ounces of meat plus 1/2 cup of veggies. I keep fruit for a morning snack. I can drink a cup of water (or tea, Soup, etc.) at the rate of two ounces every few minutes. Most days I can meet or surpass 100 ounces of water in a 24 hour period.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
